Utah Economic Council

Utah Economic Council

The Salt Lake Chamber serves as Utah’s largest statewide business association. With members in all 29 counties representing one-third of Utah’s workforce, we are Utah’s business leader. Our mission is to stand as the voice of business, support our members’ success and champion community prosperity. To this end, we employ a chief economist who advises business leaders, informs the public and helps direct public policies concerning the Utah economy. The Utah Economic Council provides economic information, peer review and analysis to the Chamber Board of Governors and our Chief Economist.

The Utah Economic Council serves three purposes:

Provide peer review – The Council will review issues of importance to the Utah economy and business community and provide economic counsel, analysis and peer review.

Share information – The Council will share data, information and analyses that improve the Chamber’s understanding and forecasting of economic conditions and impacts.

Serve as economic ambassadors within the community – The Council will serve as an economic envoy for the business community at business events and within the community.

Council members and the Chamber retain autonomy in terms of endorsing economic policies/positions.
