Mandatory electronic verification – We support a national electronic verification system for new employees that reduces the existing regulatory burden on business. This less-onerous system should be implemented by all 50 states, merged with the
I-9 verification process to eliminate duplication and include visa reform that ensures access to critical labor. We oppose revocation of business licenses as a penalty for non-compliance. In the event the federal government grants Utah waivers to implement the Utah Guest Worker law, a mandatory state-level verification system would be workable.
In-state tuition – We support extending educational opportunities to all Utah residents. Children who have attended three of more years of high school in Utah should be eligible for in-state tuition.
